Regional level ‘HackaDev’s kicks off

The first of three regional ‘HackaDev’s – UNDP’s social innovation hackathon, got underway last week at the Uva Wellassa University in Badulla with teams from neighbouring provinces competing at the National Youth Software Competition. This competition is being conducted in partnership with the Ministry of Telecommunication and Digital Infrastructure, Information and Communication Technology Agency of Sri Lanka, National Youth Services Council, Bank of Ceylon and Dialog Ideamart. Here Minister of Telecommunication and Digital Infrastructure Harin Fernando engaging with the youth at the Hackadev in Badulla. The next two HackaDevs will take place in Matara (13/14 October) and Jaffna (28/29 October), providing a platform for youth from all provinces of the country. The National Incubation Program for the nine winning teams will take place in Colombo (7/8 November).
