Rotary Membership Talk Show: ‘Our Role in rebuilding Sri Lanka’ to be held tomorrow

The Rotary Membership Talk Show organised by the Rotary Club of Colombo Centennial focussing on the theme ‘Our Role in rebuilding Sri Lanka’ will be held tomorrow (19 August) at 5:30 p.m. at Radisson Colombo (formerly OZO).

The forum features an eminent panel comprising former Sri Lanka Cricket Captain and ICC Elite Panel Match Referee Deshabandu Roshan Mahanama, University of Colombo Department of Public and International Law Head Prof. Wasantha Seneviratne, Sarvodaya Shramadana Movement President Dr. Vinya Ariyaratne and Envoy London and Hameedia Group Managing Director Fouzul Hameed. The panel will be moderated by Softlogic Holdings PLC Director Prasantha Lal De Alwis PC.

A spokesman for Rotary Club of Colombo Centennial said given the current socio-economic setback in the country, the Club initiated a social project targeting national interest in bringing back Sri Lanka’s lost glory and tomorrow’s top forum is as part of the project and in commemorating the Rotary Membership Month – August. The discussion will be based on different perspectives and viewpoints from all walks of life.

Over 100 dignitaries, business magnets, entrepreneurs, and senior Rotary District leaders are expected to attend the forum.

Rotary Club of Colombo Centennial was chartered in the 100th year of Rotary and named as ‘Colombo Centennial’ in the District 3220 and within a short span, it has managed to attract professional and enthusiastic members, who have steered the club into being the most vibrant Rotary Club in Sri Lanka. Since the inception, the club energy has focused on implementing projects that are driven by the needs of the community.

Rotary brings together a global network of volunteers dedicated to tackling the world’s most pressing humanitarian challenges. Rotary connects 1.2 million members of more than 35,000 Rotary clubs in over 200 countries and regions. 

Its work improves lives at both the local and international levels, from helping families in need in their own communities. In Sri Lanka, Rotary membership is more than 2,000 professionals, business leaders and Government officials across the country from Jaffna District to Galle District, in 71 Clubs.
