SL, Pakistan discuss boosting bilateral trade

The High Commissioner of Pakistan along with Trade and Investment Attaché, called on Trade, Commerce and Food Security Minister Nalin Fernando yesterday. 

The High Commissioner highlighted that Sri Lanka enjoys the exceptional position of being the first country with which Pakistan signed a Free Trade Agreement (FTA). 

A multifaceted discussion was held to explore ways for further enhance bilateral trade under the Pakistan - Sri Lanka FTA.

Both parties reaffirmed their commitment to undertake all possible measures to resolve impediments in promoting bilateral trade, joint ventures and economic cooperation between Pakistan and Sri Lanka.

Trade, Commerce and Food Security Ministry Secretary and senior officials of Department of Commerce were also present at the occasion.
