Sri Lanka High Commission in Singapore initiated a Tripartite Memorandum of Collaboration (MOC) between the Sri Lanka Bureau of Foreign Employment (SLBFE) and Singapore recruitment agencies, namely, Homekeeper International Ltd. and Aria Training and Consultancy Ltd., for the recruitment of Sri Lankan caregivers under an Advance Placement Scheme (APS).
The MOC provides the selected Sri Lankan migrant workers of unskilled/semi-skilled categories to undergo a specialised training under this scheme in Singapore before being employed, with better monthly wages, and guaranteed employment opportunities within 30 days.
Acting High Commissioner Ameer Ajwad witnessed the signing of the MOC by the Directors of the two agencies and the officials of the Labour Division of the Sri Lanka High Commission in Singapore.
SLBFE Chairman A.A.M. Hilme held discussions in January this year with the Singapore recruitment agencies with regard to the Advance Placement Scheme (APS) for the recruitment of Sri Lankan caregivers.
