The Cabinet of Ministers cleared to provide a three-acre plot of land from the Malabe Information Technology Park to establish a laboratory of the Sri Lanka Standards Institution (SLSI).
The land acquisition for this purpose was liaised by the Urban Development Authority, and the Sri Lanka Standards Institution has already settled the cost associated with obtaining the three-acre plot of land.
The proposal to this effect submitted by Urban Development and Housing Minister Prasanna Ranatunga was approved by the Cabinet of Ministers at its meeting on Monday.
The Sri Lanka Standards Institution, responsible for setting and maintaining national standards across various industries, will utilise this dedicated space to facilitate research, testing, and certification processes.
