SLT gets new Board member

Sri Lanka Telecom has announced the appointment of Uthaya Kumar K. Vivekandan (V.U. Kumar) to its Board as an Independent Director. 

He is a nominee of SLT’s second largest shareholder Global Telecommunications Holdings NV (Malaysia’s Maxis) which owns 45% stake.  Vivekananda was with PriceWaterhouseCoopers (PwC) for nearly 36 years. He has led and worked on some of the most challenging and complex assignments both in Malaysia and globally, working with multinational and blue chip national clients in audit, business advisory, mergers and acquisitions, valuations, privatisations, IPOs and cross border transactions. 

With the latest appointment the Board of Sri Lanka Telecom comprises of Rohan Fernando (Chairman), L. Seneviratne, M. Weerakoon, R. Rubasinghe, M.S.S.S. Fernando, C.C. Beng, L. Paratz, L.C. Foong and U.K.K. Vivekananda.
