The Sri Lanka-Singapore Business Council (SLSBC) of the Ceylon Chamber of Commerce elected KPMG Head of Deal Advisory Shiluka Goonewardene as President of the Council at the 26th Annual General Meeting conducted recently.
Concluding 25 years of operation the SLSBC has since its establishment effectively executed its mandate to strengthen bilateral relations between the two countries. Initiatives under this mandate include streamlining processes for Sri Lankan entrepreneurs to enter the Singaporean market and promoting digitalisation for startups and SMEs in Sri Lanka with the aim of empowering local businesses with advanced tools and technologies, thereby leading to increased efficiency and competitiveness in the global market.
The Council also elected Vice Presidents: MAC Holdings Ltd. Chief Financial Officer Tilak Gunawardhana, Overseas Realty (Ceylon) PLC General Manager – Sales and Marketing Nirupa Peiris, and Kalhari Group of Companies Group Managing Director Indhra Kaushal, for 2023/24.
Representatives of member companies A. Baur & Co. Ltd., Air Global Ltd., Aitken Spence Cargo Ltd., Ceylon Grain Elevators Ltd., CIC Holdings PLC, Hemas Hospitals Ltd. and Star Promotions Ltd. were elected to serve on the Executive Committee of the Council.
