Sithaka Tea sets record at weekly auction with Rs. 4,800 per kg

In a remarkable event at this week’s tea auction on 7 and 8 November 2023, Avissawella Tea Factory, trading its produce under the prestigious ‘Sithaka’ mark, set an unprecedented record. An invoice of OP1 grade tea fetched a stellar Rs. 4,800 per kilogram, the highest price ever achieved for this grade.

Located in the Ratnapura District within the Sabaragamuwa Province, the Avissawella Tea Factory is an embodiment of modernity in the tea industry.
