The Consulate General of Sri Lanka in Frankfurt assisted the Export Development Board in organising the Sri Lanka Pavilion at the ‘Boat Show’ in Dusseldorf which is the world’s largest international indoor fair for boats and water sports. The fair takes place every year and is a pure public exhibition. Innovations and trends were the focus of the show where the visitors were given the opportunity to test new products from various fields.

Three Sri Lankan companies for the very first time participated at the Düsseldorf ‘Boat Show’. Leading boat building companies Baff Polymech, Niel Marine and the Northwest Marine were housed at the Sri Lanka Pavilion. It was a great opportunity for the Sri Lankan companies to establish contacts and meet the perfect buyers at the Boat Fair.

The Consul General of Sri Lanka to Frankfurt Madurika Weninger participated in the opening ceremony of the Fair and met with the representatives of the three boat building companies. Minister, Commercial of the Trade Division of the Consulate D.M. Ratnayake was also present at the fair to assist the Sri Lankan companies.

Over 2,000 exhibitors from 70 countries displayed boats and yachts, engine and related equipment, shipping and yachting equipment, marinas, harbour facilities and marine tourism related products at the exhibition. The ‘Boat Show’ is held from 18 to 26 January, with more than 250,000 visitors patronising the world’s leading fair for boats and water sports.
