Star Holdings redefines vision for 2018/19

On 5 January 2018 STAR Holdings International Ltd., Sri Lanka’s emerging force for innovative fabric care, commemorated the new and challenging year ahead with a ceremonial unveiling of a wall plaque displaying its organisation’s vision, mission and objectives for 18/19. 



Speaking to the press, Sri Lanka’s Brand Veteran, Business Strategist and General Manager Marketing, Sales and Corporate Strategy of Star Holdings International Hashan Haputhanthri, confidently stated that, “Achieving clarity in every Sri Lankan’s life is what our vision is going to be. Sri Lanka is a nation recognised in the world for its great hospitality – our valued citizens are known for their ‘broader smile’ and are praised for living with peace and harmony amongst a variety of nationalities. So to inspire clarity and efficiency in every consumer’s day to day life by granting easy access to products with unmatched quality is the need of the hour.

“Our mission on the other hand, is ‘To achieve market leadership by 2020 by providing unparalleled products thereby making every Sri Lankan proud to have starlight as their locally grown household essential. From Sri ​Lankans to Sri Lankans’. We are not a foreign organisation led by an off shore vision. We know what is best for Sri Lankans and we will continue to provide them with utmost care. Our objective is to ‘Capture the mind share of consumers and thereby lead the market with a value for money concept and harness corporate governance to create a winning culture’. Value for money is our key focus. The vision and mission outlines this and our teams are fully geared up to achieve it.”

Redefining the vision and taking the organisation back to track was a huge step for all the members of the staff to create a more focus driven energy within the company to ensure that the year ahead will not tolerate anything other than coherence and efficiency in their unbeatable run to the finish line.

Star Holdings International has been part of Sri Lanka’s rich commerce for the past 30 years and has carved its place as a locally grown essential hero. 

Its humble beginnings stem from a backyard cottage industry and over the past decades has matured into a state of the art manufacturing facility located in the heart of Colombo. 

The organisation has vast plans of expanding and setting foot into many other categories of FMCG to cater to the growing needs of consumers. 

With innovation as its driving force Star Holdings International is keeping Sri Lankan shoppers on their toes on the lookout for more revolutionary products like the dishwash tub and the softener incorporated washing powder.

Star Holdings has been a primary part of Sri Lanka’s local market for the past 30 years – with a consistent and established presence – having brought to the market innovative products that were always economical for each and every household. 

Built on a 3-acre block of land in 1996 with state of the art facilities, Starlight was established on the vision of creating products on a ‘Value For Money’ basis with the consumers’ best interest at heart. This August, STAR Holdings launched a groundbreaking product – Starlight Lavendar with Fabric softener, that was the first of its kind in Sri Lanka – a two in one detergent powder. STAR Holdings moved into Rupavahini – Nugasevana segment by launching its 1st Magazinal Program called Starlight Wismaya. It will come on air on the second week and the third week of every month. Viewers can now take part in the program and stand a chance to win exciting gifts all year round!
