Top professionals Sujeewa Mudalige and Nanda Fernando have been appointed to the Board of RIL Property PLC as Independent Non-Executive Directors.
Sujeewa Mudalige possesses over 25 years of experience in the accounting and finance field. He recently retired as the CEO/Managing Partner of PwC
(Sri Lanka and Maldives).
Mudalige serves as an independent non-executive director in many public and private entities. He is currently serving in many regulatory bodies such as Board of Investment, NMRA and SEC.
He is a fellow member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants (SL), Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (UK), Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (UK) and Certified Public Accountants (Australia).
He has also served as the President of Institute of Chartered Accountants of Sri Lanka during 2010- 2011. He was recently awarded an honorary Doctorate in Business by the University of Plymouth (UK) recognising his outstanding contribution to accounting and finance.
Nanda Fernando is a distinguished business consultant at Professional Business Consultants Ltd., and an influential corporate leader, serving on the boards of prominent companies, including Haycarb PLC, Hayleys Fabric PLC, Dipped Products PLC, Hatton National Bank PLC, and Assetline Finance Ltd. Renowned for his strategic vision and exemplary leadership, Fernando has an exceptional track record of driving business growth, enhancing financial performance, and fostering operational excellence. His expertise has been instrumental in maximising stakeholder value and elevating productivity across diverse industries.
With a career spanning over four decades, Fernando served 36 years at Sampath Bank, from its inception to his retirement as CEO and Managing Director.
A thought leader in his field, Fernando is an alumnus of prestigious executive education programs at Harvard Business School and the National University of Singapore. He has also made significant contributions to the banking sector as the Chairman of the Bankers Technical Advisory Committee of the Sri Lanka Bankers Association. Fernando’s extensive experience in the banking and financial sectors encompasses business development, regulatory compliance, team leadership, and talent development. As a certified leadership trainer, he regularly conducts high-impact strategic workshops for senior management at leading universities and corporations in Sri Lanka and internationally.
He is a Senior Fellow of the Institute of Bankers Sri Lanka and holds a Master of Business Administration from Sikkim Manipal University, India.
