Talal Rafi joins World Economic Forum Expert Network

The World Economic Forum has appointed Talal Rafi to its Expert Network and recognises him as a global expert on entrepreneurship and gender equality. 

Talal is also the Co-Chair of the World Economic Forum’s Global Plastic Innovation Network Action Group. The World Economic Forum’s Expert Network brings together over 2,000 leading experts from government, academia, business, international organisations, civil society and the media to help shape the global agenda. 

Talal is an international consultant on entrepreneurship and gender equality. He began his career as an entrepreneur and later co-founded one of Sri Lanka’s first co-working spaces companies. He was on the selection committee of the Asian Development Bank #DigitalAgainstCOVID-19 Innovation Series and is currently engaged with the Asian Development Bank on its Women’s Finance Exchange project. He consults as an Industry Expert under the World Bank AHEAD project at Moratuwa University. Talal was on the team of experts at Chatham House London on formulating recommendations for the G7/G20 on gender equality post-COVID. He is a World Bank (GYCN) Climate Ambassador and serves on the National Agenda Committee of the Ceylon Chamber of Commerce.

Talal has given talks globally including at the NASDAQ Entrepreneurial Centre and he serves on the Advisory Board of a Silicon Valley startup working on bringing AI into the venture capital industry. His work has been published by the World Bank, International Monetary Fund, Asian Development Bank, World Economic Forum, London School of Economics, and Forbes.
