Tharanga Lands, a pioneer of land sales in Sri Lanka, won the coveted Business Excellence Award recently at the prestigious US-based Business World International Organization (BWIO) Awards Ceremony at Federal Hotel in Kuala Lumpur (KL) Malaysia. This was for its contribution towards the economic growth of Sri Lanka. There were over 60 awards presented at this awards ceremony for successful enterprises from throughout the world, representing various industries.

Speaking to the media Tharanga Lands Chairman Bandula Karunaratne said it was a privilege to be a winner at this prestigious awards ceremony and vowed to continue the winning streak and make Sri Lanka proud.

Bandula Dias Wickramanayake Karunaratne pioneered the business which dates back to 1992 with a great vision of providing a reliable, quality, affordable and eco-friendly real estate solutions to the nation. He not only pioneered the business, he also become a pioneer of the real estate industry in Sri Lanka.

Being a graduate of commerce (B.Com.special) from University of Sri Jayewardenepura, bringing great dedication, vision and expertise, be brought the business to a rapid and steady growth and popularity among the nation and it emerged as a giant in the real estate industry within a short period of time.

The business transformed into a limited liability company in 2004 and had some landmark developments by opening a branch in Galle while stationing its head office at Kottawa.
