Thrie Malee Jewellers receives ISO 9001:2015 for Manufacturing and Selling of Gold Jewellery

Thrie Malee Jewellers, with its continual commitment to excellence in jewellery manufacturing and customer service becomes Sri Lanka’s first jeweller to be certified the coveted ISO 9001:2015 standards for Manufacturing and Selling of Gold Jewellery.

Thrie Malee Jewellers was chosen for its high standards in the category of jewellery manufacturing and customer service by an accomplished panel of judges comprised of eminent personalities from UK, honouring them for setting high standards for quality, innovation and value. The certification is primarily about highlighting each and every segment of the industry. It rewards inspiration, passion and motivation across the jewellery industry by the United Kingdom. 

SGS International issued this world-renowned certification after carrying out an audit, proving that Thrie Malee Jewellers services are compliant with national and international regulations and standards. 

Awarding Officer Chamika Wimalasiri of SGS Sri Lanka, in his message to Thrie Malee Jewellers stated, “On behalf of the international certification body, I take pleasure in extending our congratulations to Thrie Malee Jewellers for consistently upgrading its standard in jewellery manufacturing and sales service.”

Explaining the criteria, he added, “ISO 9001:2015 enables an organisation to demonstrate to its customers that its products and services are consistently offered at a high standard of quality, in addition to excellent quality creation and high demand jewellery.”

The driving force behind this great achievement Thrie Malee Jewellers Chairman Kasun Rajasekera and Malee Jewellers founder Ebert Rajasekera.

Kasun Rajasekera commented, “Receiving this prestigious award was absolutely fantastic. Our success has proven the industry’s appreciation for our design, karatage and high quality jewellery work. The origin of Thrie Malee Jewellers was way back in 1974 when Ebert Rajasekera with just five craftsmen started a small shop under the banner Malee Jewellers and subsequently in 1992 opened his first Thrie Malee Gold House showroom in Nittambuwa. Thrie Malee Jewellers came into being when his son Kasun Rajasekera took over the business which has been modernised with a state-of-the-art showroom and an efficient staff.
