Transparency International Sri Lanka (TISL) and the International Chamber of Commerce Sri Lanka (ICCSL) have forged a strategic partnership to strengthen integrity, transparency, and accountability within the private sector. The two organisations formalised their collaboration by signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) at the ICCSL premises.

Acknowledging the essential role of ethical business practices in promoting economic growth and sustainable development, the MoU sets out a cooperative framework between TISL and ICCSL. Through this partnership, the organisations aim to address corruption-related risks, empower businesses with best practices, and enhance compliance mechanisms, particularly focusing on small and medium enterprises (SMEs).

Key objectives of the partnership: Facilitate the exchange of knowledge, expertise, and best practices in business integrity and anti-corruption measures; lead joint advocacy initiatives to increase awareness of the negative impacts of corruption on businesses and society; and implement capacity-building programs to support businesses in fortifying their integrity frameworks and compliance practices.

As part of this collaboration, TISL and ICCSL will jointly host events, workshops, and training sessions focusing on anti-corruption and compliance. Additionally, the partnership will include the development of educational materials and reports to share valuable insights and strategies for mitigating corruption risks.

Through this MoU, TISL and ICCSL reaffirm their commitment to fostering a culture of integrity and ethical business conduct, contributing to a more transparent and resilient business environment in Sri Lanka.
