The mission drive to enhance trade between Sri Lanka and Turkey with the assistance of the Honorary Consul of Sri Lanka to Eastern Anatolian Region Fatih Yucelik arranged an introductory virtual meeting on 7 May with the President of Erzurum Chamber of Commerce and Industry Lutfu Yucelik and President of the National Chamber of Commerce of Sri Lanka Nandika Buddhipala.
During the virtual meeting Ambassador Hassen expressed sincere appreciation to the two trade chambers for the positive mindset to establish links to develop trade contacts and invited them to seek the possibility of entering into a Memorandum of Understanding to further strengthen relations. The
The Presidents of the two trade chambers during their remarks showed their interest to organise virtual B2B networking sessions and connect with potential Turkish and Sri Lankan companies. Further, the interest was shown to sign a Memorandum of Understanding between Sri Lankan and Turkish Chambers for long-term mutual benefits. They agreed to hold follow up virtual B2B meeting with members of the respective trade chambers in early June.
Yucelik during his remarks praised the trade chambers for connecting to explore more potential between the two countries. Minister Counsellor (Commercial) of the Mission Yoshitha Jayasuriya and Secretary General of the National Chamber of Commerce Bandula Dissanayake also joined the meeting.
