UAE-based OQ Trading gets 8-month petrol import contract

The Cabinet of Ministers, at its meeting on Monday, agreed on awarding long-term contract to UAE based OQ Trading Ltd., to import petrol for eight months, following competitive bids. 

The Government said the move follows bids called from registered and temporarily registered suppliers for the long-term contract to import 1.8 million barrels of Petrol (92 Unl) for a period of eight months from 15 February to 14 October.  The proposal to this effect submitted by Energy Minister Udaya Gammanpila was approved by the Cabinet of Ministers.
