Union Assurance wins Pinnacle Award for Insurance sector at CA Sri Lanka Annual Report Awards 2019

Union Assurance wins the Pinnacle Award for the Insurance Sector at the 55th Annual Report Awards 2019. UA bagged two the Gold Award on the third night at Shangri-La, Colombo where the event was held. 

Having winning the Silver award in 2018, challenging their own capabilities UA walked away with the Gold award for the Best Annual Report in the Insurance sector this year. This is a great win for UA and this award endorses UA’s efforts of producing a transparent annual report in line with globally accepted standards and also goes to show that a team can excel in their own game to be at the top. 

Continuing the winning streak, UA also won the Gold award for Corporate Social Responsibility Reporting for the second consecutive year. This award reflects the continuous contribution over the years of Union Manushyathwaya to the communities in Sri Lanka. 

‘Union Manushyathwaya’ – The CSR Platform is strongly focused on disseminating vital information to the public on adopting preventive measures against thalassemia, dengue, and diabetes. In addition, the company conducts multiple activities towards protecting the environment including saving water, recycling materials, controlling paper usage and many other initiatives.

The Chartered Accountants of Sri Lanka (CA Sri Lanka) recently concluded its 55th Annual Report Awards Ceremony to crown the best annual reports across all sectors of the Sri Lankan economy. The competition recognised and awarded organisations that produced the most cohesive, clear and customised annual reports that best reflects an entity’s operations, whilst going beyond their statutory boundaries of reporting and promoting transparency, accountability and good governance.
