Kevilton Electrical Products Ltd., part of the Capital Maharaja Group, and the Sri Lanka Vocational Training Authority signed a Memorandum of Understanding on 5 October at the Orugodawatte K-Tec Institute of the VTA.

The practical knowledge of the electricians associated with the Kevilton Company throughout the island is put to the test and theoretical knowledge and skills deficiencies are identified through a pre-assessment. The updated knowledge required by them is carried out by the Training Division of the VTA after the final evaluation for the purpose of issuing NVQ - Level 3 Certificates under the RPL methodology. Funding and training materials are provided by Kevilton.

Public and private sector companies identify and act on public demand for training of manpower required for the electrical sector to provide high quality certification to electricians for the design and standardisation of high-quality electrical equipment in the world, which is a unique social mission.

The MoU was signed by VTA Chairman/CEO Eranga Basnayake and Capital Maharaja Group Director S.C. Weerasekera. Minister of State for Skills Development, Vocational Education, Research and Innovations Dr. Seetha Arambepola, Kevilton Ltd. CEO Nalin Jayawardena, Deputy Chairman Mahesh Ariyaratne, Director General Chulangani Perera and the Board of Directors were also present for this occasion.
