Wasantha promoted as MD at Richard Pieris Exports

Wasantha Abeysirigunawardena has been appointed as the Managing Director in the capacity of Executive Non-Independent Director of Richard Pieris Exports PLC.

Previously he was the CEO of the company.

Abeysirigunawardena is a Rubber Technologist holding a Masters in Polymer Science and Technology with over 44 years’ experience in the rubber products manufacturing industry.

His contributions to product development of Richard Pieris Group have been highly acclaimed, winning him a Merit Award from the Plastics and Rubber Institute for the significant contribution he made towards the development and growth of the polymer industry in Sri Lanka.

He is an Associate Member of the Institute of Materials in London and also a Member of The Institute of Incorporated Engineers in Sri Lanka. He has also been conferred with a Graduateship in Mechanical Engineering from The City and Guilds Institute, London.
