Wattegodde Estate establishes all-time record price

Wattegodde Estate achieved an all-time record price of Rs. 2,800 per kg for a Dust1 grade in the Western High Grown Region at the 50th sale of the year held on 19/20 December.

This estate is situated in the Dimbula Planting District in the Talawakelle-Lindula Region at an elevation of 1,280 metres above mean sea level. The total extent of the estate covers 425 hectares with an excellent processing centre that boasts of a production capacity of approximately 620,000 kg per annum.

Wattegodde Estate is ISO 22000:2018, 14001:2015, ISO 14064-1:2018 and Rainforest Alliance certified. This estate is managed by Talawakelle Tea Estates PLC, a subsidiary of Hayleys PLC, under the stewardship of Manager Nalin Kumara, who was instrumental in achieving this feat.
