A.N.U. Jayawardena steps down as Chairman in two listed companies

A.N.U. Jayawardena who is 79 years old has stepped down as Chairman of two listed companies, Mercantile Shipping Co Plc as well as Union Chemicals Plc.

At Mercantile Shipping, he was a founder Director whilst at Union Chemicals he joined the Board in 1988.

Jayawardena holds a M.A., LI.B. (Cantab) and is Barrister at Law of Lincolns Inn and an Attorney-at-Law of the Supreme Court of Sri Lanka.

He was a founder director of the national carrier when it was Air Lanka and was a past director of two commercial banks and two leasing and financial services companies.
