The Sri Lankan paint industry is now infused with a new hue with the re-launch of ‘ColorBrite’ paints, manufactured by Everpaint and Chemical Industries Ltd. ColorBrite paints aim to fill a void in the local paint industry by providing safer paints for an economical price to Sri Lankan consumers. The widespread use of low-quality paint with unsafe ingredients like lead, chromium and cobalt can cause serious damage to health in such ways as lead poisoning, which is harmful to people of all ages. The Government of Sri Lanka too has issued an Extraordinary Gazette Notification No. 1725/30, under the Consumer Affairs Authority Act No. 9 of 2003, directing and specifying the permissible level of lead content in most decorative products which has been effective since 1st January 2013.

Our paints also have a very low VOC content, and they are free of any carbonic feature,” said Everpaint and Chemical Industries CEO Tony Ranasinghe, speaking on the enhanced safety aspects of the new paint.
ColorBrite is manufactured in a modern facility that incorporates internationally used fine grinding processes to create a paint that provides a more elegant finish. In addition, this process also reduces surface tension for easier application and eliminates surface defects.
