With the collaboration of the Ministry of Education, AAT Sri Lanka has organised the now popular Best Annual Reports and Accounts competition of National Schools for the ninth consecutive year which will be held on 11 December at the Bandaranaike Memorial International Conference Hall.
The Best Annual Report Award was introduced to increase awareness, through the encouragement of social responsibility reporting that businesses and organisations are responsible to the community both as employers and corporate citizens.
Minister of Education Akila Viraj Kariyawasam will grace the occasion as the Chief Guest and Ministry of Education Secretary Sunil Hettiarachchi will participate as the Guest of Honour.
This competition focuses on a very important area which highlights on annual reports and accounts of national schools. The general public is very interested and look for correct, up to date, accurate information in their annual reports.
From the inception of this competition in 2008, it has gained significance as a very useful project leading on to growth on all aspects of our national schools and the associated School Development Societies’ accountability to all stakeholders and overall good governance practices. Among the several CSR projects that AAT Sri Lanka carries out, this competition is the best project which directly focuses on the association’s primary objective, which is strengthening professional accountancy education in the country.
