AAT Sri Lanka International Conference from 27 Sept.

The Association of Accounting Technicians Sri Lanka (AATSL) will hold a two-day international conference from September 27 to 28 at the Hotel Galadari Colombo.

The inauguration will commence at 6.00 pm on 27th September and the theme of the conference will be “Confronting the New Economic Landscape.”

“This theme has been chosen to address the crucial issues of the volatile business environment following the Global financial meltdown, natural disasters and regulatory changes,” AAT Sri Lanka CEO Mr. Kumarasinghe said.

Postgraduate Institute of Management (PIM) Director Prof. Uditha Liyanage will deliver the Key Note address at the conference. Other special invitees will be CEO of AAT UK Jane Scott Paul, CEO of AAT Australia Robert Comelli and President HKI AAT Johnson Kong

There will be four Technical Sessions on Change in the global economic landscape, Practical application of IFRS, Evolutionary changes in Risk Management, and Sustainability reporting. IMF Representative Sri Lanka and Maldives Dr. Koshy Mathai, KPMG Ford Rhodes Partner Riyaz Mihular, M Fadhil Jiffry CFO of HSBC, Life Insurance Corporation India Chairman Dinesh Kumar Mehrotra, Ruchi Gunewardene, CEO of STING Consultants Pvt. Ltd. will make presentations and Lanka Orix Leasing Deputy General Manager Jithendra Gunatilake will be the guest speaker on the topic of Risk resilience and resurgence: The Japanese Experience at the technical sessions.
