The Association of Accounting Technicians of Sri Lanka (AAT Sri Lanka) has reiterated its excellence when it emerged victorious with two coveted awards at the National Business Excellence Award 2016 organised by the National Chamber of Commerce of Sri Lanka for the 13th year.

The pioneer in producing accounting technicians proved its stature by securing the prestigious Gold Award in the Associations & Societies Sector for the 4th consecutive year. Also, in the category awards, AAT won the Silver Award in the medium category for the very first time, which justified the dedication, commitment and contribution of the association to the development of accountancy education in the nation.

The President of AAT Sri Lanka, J. M. U. B. Jayasekera said, “The education industry has become a highly competitive one and it is one in which a large number of established organisations have always been held in high esteem by stakeholders. The fact that AAT Sri Lanka, with its history of nearly three decades in producing middle-level accounting technicians, emerged with two awards is truly a laurel that we are very proud of. This achievement serves to underline our commitment to excellence at every level of the organization - a tribute to the commitment and hard work of all members, students, staff and many other stakeholders.

“We greatly appreciate the initiative of the National Chamber of Commerce of Sri Lanka for organising and conducting this competition. It provides local corporate entities an excellent platform to present their achievements for evaluations through an unbiased professional approach to gain recognition and reward,” stated AAT Sri Lanka Chief Executive Officer Kumarasinghe.

Since 1987, AAT Sri Lanka has been offering quality education opportunities to Sri Lankan students in the field of accountancy and at present AAT is striving to reach greater heights in training and qualifying its members and students who are knowledgeable, capable and transparent in all that they do in order to be outstanding winners.
