ACL Electric, a subsidiary company of ACL Cables Plc, announced the launch of ACL switches and sockets to the market recently.
With a trail of innovations to its credit, ACL Cables is sought after by discerning professionals and concerned home owners. A media briefing was held to mark this milestone on Thursday 7 November at the Taj Samudra, which was attended by the group’s Board of Directors, sales personnel and media institutes.
ACL Cables Director Exports Daya Wahalatantiri in his welcome address stated that the product had gone through a planning process of over two years and was released to the market after obtaining the necessary safety and quality certifications.
“ACL Cables have been the pioneer cable producers since 1962. With the experience and expertise in the sector ACL Cables have obtained a 70% share of the market for cable solutions and generated revenue of Rs. 11.3 billion. We are also proud to be one the 100 top companies in Sri Lanka according to a survey conducted by LMD,” Wahalatantiri further added.
Capitalising on technical superiority
Introducing the new range of products from ACL Electric, Manager Sales Rohan Daluwatte said: “We wanted to capitalise on our technical superiority to introduce another great product to the market by introducing a range of state of the art switches and sockets that will complete your circuit. Through extensive research we discovered that the consumer was not happy with the products available in the market. A switch just like a cable used for wiring is expected to last long, the switches and sockets available nowadays do not last long and will give away and then has to be replaced. This occurs due to the low quality of material used in manufacturing.”
Daluwatte went on to explain the advantages of choosing ACL Electric products: “We identified these weaknesses in the existing products from various brands in the markets and developed switches and sockets that would address these issues. Our products are made using best quality brass components and we have used silver at the contact point so that the mechanism will last longer. Even the gauge of the material used is much higher. Our switches and sockets are certified for quality by local SLS standards and PSB Singapore.”
A natural evolution
Sharing his thoughts on the products, ACL Cables Managing Director Suren Madanayake stated; “It is a very natural evolution for our business, we possess the know-how and the capability to introduce another great product, to meet the needs of the user. Therefore moving into this section was a given. We believe it is our duty to provide them with the best quality products at all times and it is our commitment to our customers.”
ACL switches and sockets will be available across the island in 6,500 stores within this month and the discerning consumers now have the opportunity to use them with a lifetime guarantee from the 50-year-old giant in cable manufacturing.
