International award-winning software company Affno celebrated the first anniversary of its subsidiary Affno Middle East WLL, by showcasing its latest innovations at the Bahrain International eGovernment Forum 2013.

Deputy Prime Minister of Bahrain and Chairman of the Supreme Committee of ICT, Shaikh Mohammed bin Mubarak Al Khalifa presents a memento to Affno CEO Suren Kannangara in the presence of eGovernment Authority of Bahrain CEO Mohammed Ali Al Qaed

The Forum, which provides a platform to highlight the latest technological trends and practices, was held at the Ritz Carlton Hotel in Manama from 8 to 10 April 2013. Affno’s augmented reality applications demonstrated how dynamic content such as video and 3D simulations can now be overlaid over real objects viewed through a smartphone.

Affno also used a touch-screen application to encourage organisations to consider how innovative they are. With these technologies showcased via a larger-than-life smartphone and tablet, Affno once again turned heads and made a name as an icon for innovation.

Affno Middle East WLL was launched on 8 April 2012 at the Bahrain International eGovernment Forum in the presence of the Deputy Prime Minister and Chairman of the Supreme Committee of ICT, Shaikh Mohammed bin Mubarak Al Khalifa, to serve as a hub for Affno’s work in the region. Affno has already made an impact across the Middle East through its e-initiatives for numerous government and private sector organisations across Bahrain, Qatar and the UAE.

Affno presents a unique advantage by virtue of its three complementary offerings; workplace automation, mobile innovation and web development. The combination of these three areas is unique both regionally and globally and has equipped Affno with an exceptional level of aesthetic and functional expertise. This has enabled Affno to emerge as a leader in e-government and m-government.
