Akzo Nobel Paint Lanka Ltd, the market leader and household name for paints in Sri Lanka and a subsidiary of the largest coatings producer in the world, unveiled its newest interior emulsion paint, ‘Dulux Once’ recently with over 300 channel partners witnessing the grand event using state-of-the-art video mapping technology at a ceremony held at Blue Waters, Wadduwa.

‘Dulux Once’ promises to deliver the best value for money to its customers through its outstanding singe coat application technology. This paint has been developed to give hiding of the surface being painted in a single coat and thus significantly reducing the quantity of paint used. It also has outstanding ability to spread over a larger wall area than most other paints in the market today.

“Consequently ‘Dulux Once’ is able deliver the lowest cost per square foot of painted wall to those who use it,” said Gerald De Saram, Managing Director, Akzo Nobel Paints Lanka, at the launch ceremony. “The good news does not end there. By reducing the number of coats used, this product also reduces its carbon footprint significantly, thus contributing to the reduction of greenhouse gasses and global warming.”

“It is truly a paint that has been developed with tomorrow’s consumer in mind,” he added.

De Saram further added that over a decade ago, ‘Dulux Once’ was in this market. “However, we believe that in today’s context there is a definite need for a genuine single coat emulsion to be reintroduced and we have succeeded in developing an outstanding and very exciting new product that will provide solutions to the issues of cost, time and convenience faced by modern consumers,” he said.

“The Dulux Once we bring you today is a uniquely different product, a thoroughbred that I see as a great game changer.”

He emphasised that painters too will love ‘Dulux Once’ as it is much easier to apply, and therefore less tiring, and more importantly will speed up the time in which the job can be completed.

AkzoNobel – owner of the world famous paint brand Dulux – won the first place and named ‘Super Sector Leader’ in the last SAM Sustainability Assessment. It is the sixth consecutive year that AkzoNobel has been in the SAM top three.

The influential ranking – which is used by Dow Jones to create their sustainability index – assesses 90 companies in the chemical and coatings industries and ranks the leaders in sustainability based on economic, social and environmental categories. AkzoNobel topped the list and achieved first position in all three categories – economic, environmental and social criteria.
