The stalls of Akzo Nobel Paints Lanka at the Sri Lanka Institute of Architects Members’ Work and Trade Exhibition 2013 which concluded recently attracted many guests. The company ran two high tech stalls at the exhibition held at the Sirimavo Bandaranayake Convention Centre.

The stalls highlighted ‘Tomorrow’s answers today’ by using advanced and latest technology to demonstrate Dulux products and capability of Akzo Nobel.

The main product featured was ‘Dulux Once’ designed for today’s consumer. “It is a high quality no nonsense interior emulsion that promises to deliver best for its value paid,” a company spokesman said.

He further explained that: “It is being achieved by reducing the number of coats needed to cover the walls and thereby directly reduces the cost of the paint applied. Dulux Once has a highly concentrated formula that will not only cover your walls in a single coat but will also spread over a greater area, per litre to give you a high quality finish at a fraction of the cost and save you time as well.”

In addition to decorative products, Akzo Nobel the largest coating company in the world demonstrated products which are being used in important venues around the world.

This year’s theme being ‘New technology bringing to life’ was clearly demonstrated through the Virtual Assistant.

It gave information about Akzo Nobel Worldwide and its philosophy and key projects, sustainability initiatives, and the innovations introduced to the paint industry globally.

Akzo Nobel stall was equipped with a multi touch interactive table, where at a given time 12 touch points can be used and thus several people can interact at the same time. This table highlighted five areas of Akzo Nobel: corporate sustainability, technology, Formula 1 partnership with Vodafone McLaren Mercedes and Corporate social responsibility (Dulux let’s colour campaign and child trust fund activities).

The multi touch interactive table demonstrated AkzoNobel as the world’s leading coating company, the key roles played at Beijing, London and the next Olympic Games in Rio as well as the 2014 Football World Cup in Brazil by providing world class paint products to protect these venues.

Among Akzo Nobel’s major sponsorships is its move to become a full technology partner with the McLaren Group after expanding the company’s current relationship with Vodafone McLaren Mercedes. Through Sikkens, AkzoNobel has been the official supplier of paint solutions to McLaren’s team since 2008.

AkzoNobel owner of the world famous paint brand Dulux won the first place and named ‘super sector leader’ in the last SAM sustainability assessment. It is the sixth consecutive year that AkzoNobel has been in the SAM top three.

The influential ranking used by Dow Jones to create their Sustainability Index, assesses 90 companies in the chemical and coatings industries and ranks the leaders in sustainability based on economic, social and environmental categories.

AkzoNobel topped the list and achieved first position in all three categories economic, environmental and social criteria.
