AMW Marathon Dag Supiri Chance winners receive prizes

Associated Motorways (AMW) a corporate leader in Sri Lanka held the award ceremony of its ‘Marathon DAG Supiri Chance’ promotional program. The promotion was conducted by the Retreading Tyre Sector of the company. Awards ceremony was held at the Mount Lavinia Hotel headed by AMW Group Managing Director Samantha Rajapakse. The first prize of the ‘Marathon DAG Supiri Chance’ promo which was a Piaggio petrol three-wheeler was clinched by Supiri Tire House Limited, Kandy owner Kithsiri Bandara. The second and third prizes which were a Yamaha SZX motor cycle and a DELL laptop computer were secured by Chilaw Singha Tyre Centre owner J.M.D. Jeewantha Nishakara and Hettipola Dilshan Tire House owner P.A.P.K.K. Panditharatne respectively. In addition, gold coins and mobile phones were given away as consolation prizes. The ‘Marathon DAG Supiri Chance’ promotion was held from 1 November 2013 to 21 March 2014 with the key objective of recognising the services of Marathon DAG tyre dealers of AMW. ‘Marathon Dag’ procure tyre was launched by the AMW in 2013 and all retreading tyre sales volumes have been segregated and taken into account for recognising the dealers. AMWs retreading tyre sector recorded a remarkable sales growth in 2013. AMW Senior Manager Sales and Marketing Nimal S. Ratnayake expressed his views at the ‘Marathon DAG Supiri Chance’ awards ceremony. He said this particular sales promotional program was launched with a view to taking the Marathon DAG and other retreading tyre brands forward. “Marathon DAG tyre has gained immense recognition in the marketplace in a short period. It is ideal for trucks and light trucks because this tyre has an extra grip and it can be obtained at a competitive price. Further, Marathon DAG guarantees an extra life-span,” said Ratnayake. He added, relationship between the company and its dealers is the main reason for this success in the marketplace. “Today we are happy to recognise our retreading tyre dealers. Throughout the year we conduct activities to cheer up our dealers and their families. ‘Marathon DAG Supiri Chance’ promotional program is one of those activities. We have more activities in store in the months to come, for the benefit of our retreading tyre dealers and their customers,” said Ratnayake. AMW manufactures Retreading tyre brands Marathon DAG, Marathon Radial, Marathon High-Miler, OTR and aDAG. Further the company has the know-how and ability to retread tyres for any rim-size. AMW is the only company in Sri Lanka which has the capability to retread tyres through a specialised manufacturing process of Vacu-lug and Die-Hard. AMW has two factories with all production facilities to retread tyres in Kaluthara and Anuradhapura. All productions of AMW have certifications and are in line with the standards set by ISO 9001-2008 and environment protection standards ISO 14001-2004. AMW has been operating for 65 long years and the company is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Al-Futtaim group, a large conglomerate in the UAE and a multinational group.
