AMW welcomes three new Directors

AMW welcomed aboard experienced Marketer Brandon Morris who assumes duties as Director/CEO of AMW Capital Leasing & Finance PLC, with effect from 1 February. Brandon counts over 25 invaluable years of managerial experience, of which 16 have been in the Non-Banking Financial Sector (NBFI). Prior to this, he has held key positions at LOLC (Asst.General Manager), Ceylease Financial Services Ltd. (Chief Operating Officer) and TVS Automotives Ltd. (CEO). Educated at St. Joseph’s College Colombo, he is a Chartered Marketer, holds an MBA from the Post Graduate Institute of Management (PIM), University of Sri Jayewardenepura and a Post Graduate Diploma in Marketing from the Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM) UK. Having gained valuable experience in sales, branding, credit appraisal, debtor management, distribution, dealership management, logistics and international trading, Brandon’s diverse skills and experience in both the financial and trading sectors would be useful to the Management Board of the AMW Group as well. AMW Capital Leasing & Finance PLC, established in February 2006, is listed under the DiriSavi Board of the Colombo Stock Exchange and is registered with the Central Bank of Sri Lanka. Its principal lines of business include finance leasing, operating leasing, hire purchase, auto loans and acceptance of fixed deposits. Boasting of one of the best NPL ratios and high quality portfolios in the NBFI sector, the company possesses an asset base exceeding Rs. 5 billion. Meanwhile, Naalaka Madugalle, who joined Associated Motorways Ltd. in October 2013, takes over as Director – Commercial Sales, After Sales and Parts Divisions with effect from February. He counts 23 invaluable years of experience in a diverse range of work environments. Prior to this Naalaka was Chief Executive Officer at LAUGFS Lubricants Ltd. He holds a Masters in Business specialising in Marketing from the University of Western Sydney Nepean Australia and a Post Graduate Diploma in Marketing from the Chartered Institute of Marketing UK.  He is an Associate member of The Australian Marketing Institute. In his extensive career he has been responsible for developing new loan schemes, implementing and successfully launching many innovative products and policies, and attaining remarkable market growth rates whilst achieving targets beyond expectations. Hailing from Trinity College, Kandy, Naalaka played rugby and was awarded college colours.  His combination of talent, skill, education and experience is certainly an advantage for AMW. The Commercial Sales division is the trading division of AMW dealing with an extensive brand range such as BP/Castrol lubricants, Goodyear, Evergreen tyres, and EPIC Power truck tyres, EPIC Maxx automotive batteries and the SONAX car care range. The After Sales and Parts Divisions are key focus areas identified by AMW and Naalaka’s extensive experience in this area will be invaluable. Having joined AMW in 2013 as Director Human Resources, Kushan Wijewickrama also took up the mantle of Shared Services with effect from December 2013. A product of S. Thomas’ College Mount Lavinia, he holds an MBA from the Buckinghamshire New University, UK, a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of Delhi, India. He also holds a National Diploma in Human Resources Management – NDHRM from the Institute of Personal Management of Sri Lanka and is a Member of the Association of Human Resources Professionals (AHRP).  Kushan brings with him a wealth of experience in the Human Resources Field from many industries as well as overseas (India, Bangladesh and Malaysia). Having begun as a Management Trainee in Human Resources Management at FDK Lanka Ltd., Kushan held managerial positions at UNICEF (United Nations Children’s Fund) as Human Resources Development Officer – Sri Lanka & Maldives, Fonterra Brands Lanka Ltd., Finlay’s Tea Estates Sri Lanka, and Ericsson CU Malaysia and Sri Lanka (based in Malaysia). His experience of over 16 years in the field has seen him responsible for setting up HR divisions with HR processes and practices and consulting at a regional level which has earned him recognition at the Annual HR Awards. Kushan also lectures at the Institute of Personnel Management of Sri Lanka (IPM). His forward thinking approach, modern outlook, in depth experience and broad perspective will certainly be an added advantage for AMW’s future journey.
