Anchor Newdale will open its doors to consumers and the general public in Sri Lanka as it launches the Anchor Newdale ‘Apeyma Kiri Chaarikawa’ from 13 December 2013. The Anchor Newdale ‘Apeyma Kiri Chaarikawa’ is an educational tour on Anchor Newdale dairy processes. The tour will give the public an opportunity to witness first-hand and learn about the journey from grass to glass; beginning with the 4000 farmers who provide milk for Anchor Newdale products, to the nutritional value and production of Anchor Newdale products such as set and stirred yoghurt, flavoured milk, white milk and curd. The public will further witness the stringent quality control measures in place at the Anchor Newdale state of the art manufacturing plant in Biyagama. Within the first two days of invitations, Anchor Newdale recorded over 2000 registrations for its Kiri Chaarikawa, set over a period of two weekends. Commenting on the Anchor Newdale ‘Apeyma Kiri Chaarikawa’ event, Fonterra Brands Lanka Director Marketing Roshan de Silva said: “Anchor Newdale has been one of the most favoured yoghurts amongst Sri Lankan kids for the past 15 years. We have been making this nutritious yoghurt with milk sourced from our very own Sri Lankan farmers. We collect over 10 million litres of fresh milk annually. We will continue our efforts to develop local milk production through dairy development initiatives, empowering Sri Lanka’s dairy farmer families.” He further added: “The Anchor Newdale ‘Apeyma Kiri Chaarikawa’ is a guided tour that will allow our consumers and all Sri Lankans to witness first-hand how our products are made, where they come from and the quality processes in place.” The public is kindly requested to register for the Anchor Newdale ‘Apeyma Kiri Chaarikawa’ only through the Anchor Hotline on +9411-2468468. Callers must provide their name, identity card number, the number of participants, and the district/area they are from. Admissions are based on registrations on a first-come, first-serve basis.
