Anything.lk launches IVR system; first deal with Coco Veranda

The current deals industry in Sri Lanka is based on a ‘buy now, use later’ policy which, while effective, sometimes leaves the customer a little frustrated.  In a bid to change this scenario, Anything.lk launched its IVR system this week.

Merchants who are tied up with Anything.lk are now able to use the IVR system to honour vouchers in real-time. Prior to this, merchants had to wait till a particular deal finished selling on the website so that a final list of voucher holders could be produced to them in order for voucher redemption to begin. Now, all of this is set to change.

Chief Executive Officer of Anything.lk Reeza Zarook said: “We believe in improving the deal experience as much as possible for the customer and this is a huge step forward for us in that aspect.

Once again this is a feature born out of a fruitful partnership with the leading players in the market and at this instance its Dialog Axiata that’s helped us roll out this system.”

The new IVR system will enable the merchant to login directly to the back-end of the Anything.lk website and check on all the vouchers that have currently been sold on their deal in real-time. This way, the merchant will be able to check the validity of a voucher and then mark it as used when the customer presents it to them for redemption.

What makes this viable to any merchant is that access to the system is via the telephone. All they have to do is dial in, follow the simple menu options and within a few key presses the validity of voucher can be determined and redemption can begin.  Coco Veranda will be the first merchant to take advantage of this IVR system.
