Arif Habib Group of Pakistan to set up cement grinding unit in Sri Lanka

The Arif Habib Group in Pakistan has received the go-ahead from the Government to set up a cement grinding unit in Hambantota according to ACHL Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Arif Habib.



The project will cost US$ 20 million of which US$ 15 million will be invested upfront. The project is expected to have a grinding capacity of one million tons per annum. Habib said that there will be an exchange of dialogue with the BOI to look into further opportunities for the Habib group to venture in Sri Lanka.

“We are very interested in entering various sectors of the Sri Lankan economy,” said Habib, while stating that the group is also keen on contributing towards the development of the capital market of the nation as it is its core activity in Pakistan.
