Arpico achieves another first with taxi service for shoppers

The Arpico retail chain has broken new ground in value addition with the deployment of its own dedicated taxi service exclusively for shoppers.

The service, a first for a supermarket chain in Sri Lanka, has commenced with a fleet of 10 Nissan Leaf electric cars at four Arpico Supercentres – Hyde Park Corner, Dehiwela, Battaramulla and Wattala.

Branded ‘Eco Privilege Taxi Service,’ the cars in distinctive Arpico livery will offer shoppers a comfortable, safe and environment-friendly ride home at Rs. 40 per kilometre, the company said.

The Arpico retail chain now comprises of 17 Arpico Supercentres, 18 showrooms and 21 Arpico Daily mini supermarkets.
