Astron holds 2013 distributor convention

A fully Sri Lankan owned pharmaceutical company, Astron felicitated its field force and distributors at the Astron 2013 distributor convention held on 15 February at the Cinnamon Grand Colombo.

At the convention, Astron Managing Director Marise Deckker shared the company’s business performance in 2012, and discussed plans for 2013, for all the strategic business units of the company. Marketing Director Sirimal Fernando and Director Animal Health Sanka Athukorale presented the detailed plans for their respective business units for 2013.

In keeping with tradition, Astron’s General Manager Marketing Johann De Zilwa unveiled the 2013 theme of the company ‘Levitate’ which means rise and hover in the air by means of supernatural human power. The curtain raiser of the convention spelt out the prerequisites to achieve the objectives of 2013.

The Astron distributor of the year award was won by Galle Drugs Gampola the second runner up was New Pharmacy Kurunegala and first runners up Lanka Pharmacy, Elpitiya respectively.

Astron manufactures imports and markets quality healthcare products. The company was incorporated in 1956 creating a milestone in the pharmaceutical industry by setting up the first pharmaceutical manufacturing facility in the country.
