Athukorale Group clinches award after award

The 14th Annual National Achiever Awards for Industrial Excellence, organised by the Ceylon Chamber of Industries on 3 September this year with the honoured presence of Minister Eran Wickramaratne, saw the nationally renowned Pitigala Athukorale Group clinch the National Small Enterprise Bronze Award and the Silver Award under the category of Small Enterprises from the Southern Province.

Leaping in fits and starts since its inception, Athukorale Group managed to clinch victory in last year’s awards ceremony as well, and has been accorded the ISO 22000:2005, the HACCP, and the ETP certifications, among others – both locally and internationally.

Additionally, in 2012 and 2013 it was recognised as the best tea manufacturer in Matugama at the National Plantation Awards Ceremony, while in both those years and in 2014 it was awarded the FCCISL Award in recognition of its quality standards and contribution to the local industry.
