The Baby Cheramy ‘Thaagi Pahasa’ prize distribution ceremony to felicitate the winners of the second and third draws of the competition was held recently in the form of a gala event hosted at the Galle Face Hotel on 29 March.  The event was the culmination of a series of three draws held over a period of three months, which drew prizes worth millions of Rupees and attracted a total of approximately 500,000 entries.

The promotion was held from December 2011 to February 2012 with the aim of showing appreciation and further developing a bonding lasting for over 50 years with Baby Cheramy users. The winners were awarded a Suzuki Alto sports car for the first prize, two Scooty Peps for the second, 20 gold chains for the third and 20 mobile phones for the fourth prize respectively per draw at this event.

In order to provide their loyal consumers with a memorable event, a variety of entertainment was laid out to reward them for their continued trust and dedication in maintaining Baby Cheramy as a household name in the country. The proceedings ended with a sumptuous lunch that served to further enhance the enjoyment of the morning.

“I use Baby Cheramy products and I’m thrilled to have won the car as my family do not own one,” said first prize winner of the second draw Joseph Sinduja of Batticaloa.

“I am a mother of a four year old baby and have been using the entire Baby Cheramy range for my baby and myself. I decided to enter the competition as I’m a regular user of the brand,” added second prize winner of the second draw Thanjuja Niroshi Weerasinghe of Kandy.

H.A.L. Rasadun of Galle, winner of the first prize of the third draw stated, “My family uses Baby Cheramy and since we do not own a vehicle, I’m looking forward to owning and driving a car.”

Baby Cheramy  acknowledges the fact that a lot of love, dedication, commitment, hard work – and occasional frustrations go into the lives of many young mothers caring for their offspring and therefore hopes to create opportunities with a view to recognise and honour the unique challenges that go into the birthing process and  raising of children.
