BBDO Lanka hosted the hottest stall at the Green Chillies event this year which was held at The Kingsbury on 7 June serving hotdogs with a liberal spreading of homemade extra spicy green chilli paste. The green-hotdogs were served by fire-fighter helmet clad staffers with water pistols on hand if you needed to cool off quickly.

One of the attendees, Positha, commented: “I loved the hotdogs; it was really spicy and tasted great.”

Shehan another one of the brave attendees, added, “I thought the stall was quite creatively decorated; plus the hardhats were a nice touch.”

The Green Chillies is a Sri Lanka advertising industry mixer event replete with food, drinks, and singing, dancing and other stage acts as solo and group performers compete to be named the ‘Agency Idol’ of the year; essentially a whole lot of entertainment. Organised by The Metal Factor together with the IAA (International Advertising Association) and 4A’s it is held in order to raise funds to fund the Young Lions who will be representing Sri Lanka at Cannes this year.

“We at BBDO Lanka are delighted to be a part of this wonderful tradition where the advertising, marketing and media industry fraternity meet and have fun for the second time. And we’re proud to be doing our part to help the young talent in the local advertising industry,” said BBDO Lanka MD Santosh Menon.

BBDO Lanka Creative Head Ranil Nalawansa added: “Last year we showcased a prototype of our innovation; Asia’s first mechanical air purifying billboard and thereby making the Green Chillies greener. This year we’ve taken a different turn and made it hotter.”

BBDO Lanka, the Sri Lankan affiliate of the global BBDO network, which soon after only its first year of operations was awarded Campaign Asia-Pacific magazine’s ‘Rest of South Asia Creative Agency of the Year 2012’ Silver, recently added shopper marketing to its services which include ATL, PR and Digital.

BBDO Lanka is uniquely positioned in the advertising industry having launched its ‘Force for Good’ initiative in 2012 by becoming the first carbon neutral advertising agency. It also launched Asia’s first ever mechanical air purifying billboard.

It is also the only Sri Lankan advertising agency with branch operations in Mauritius and since 2011 has been engaged in doing truly exciting work for Mauritius Commercial Bank (MCB). MCB is the oldest and largest banking institution in Mauritius and a true pioneer in its banking sector. BBDO Lanka also does projects for the Mauritian Edendale Ltd.
