BDO to offer lean digital enterprise solutions

The productivity in the construction industry has been declining over the past 40 years. Costs have been rising with an adverse impact on the bottom-line of companies. One approach for improving the situation is using lean digital solutions for construction. Unique features of lean digital solutions for construction include a clear set of objectives for the delivery process, aim at maximising performance for the customer at project level, concurrent design, construction, and the application of project control throughout the life cycle of the project from design to delivery.

In this backdrop, BDO Partners has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with BT&BT Management Consultancy, India and IPMCC Sri Lanka, to provide lean digital enterprise solutions. “BDO, BT & BT and IPMCC are well positioned to offer best in class Lean Digital Enterprise Solutions to various industry segments in Sri Lanka. We are confident of improving the business performance of companies with this strategic partnership,” expressed BDO Partners Managing Partner Sujeewa Rajapakse.

BDO Partners hopes to introduce lean digital enterprise solutions to various industries in Sri Lanka, where BDO would help clients to use business activities or new business models that incorporated digital technology. Lean digital enterprise solutions modify business models, business process, business operations and business culture. The formulation of digital solutions includes the design of products and services and their interoperability with other complementary platforms, and their deployment as products and services by taking advantage of resources. All of the functional and process strategies are encompassed under the umbrella of digital business solutions with the digital resources serving as the connective tissue.

BDO along with BT&BT organised a workshop on Lean Digital Solutions for the members of the Ceylon Builders Association (National Builders Association). BT&BT Management Consultancy MD and CEO, V. Srinivasa Rao (VSR) stated, “Lean digital enterprises outperform the traditional/conventional enterprises.”

Construction professionals have been storming the ramparts of conventional construction management in an effort to deliver better value to owners while making real profits. As a result lean-based tools have emerged and have been successfully applied to simple and complex construction projects.
