BOI hosts Commonwealth Biz Council CEO

Chairman/Director General of the Board of Investment of Sri Lanka, Dr. Lakshman Jayaweera hosted Dr. Mohan Kaul, Chairman of the Commonwealth Business Council and a delegation of officials from the Commonwealth Secretariat at the BOI Head Office at the World Trade Center.

The discussions centred on Sri Lanka hosting the Commonwealth Business Forum, an important business meeting taking place alongside the CHOGM that will bring to the country many leading entrepreneurs from Commonwealth and other countries. According to Dr. Kaul, this event is likely lead to FDI inflows of as much as US$ 2 billion into Sri Lanka in addition boosting bilateral trade and tourism.

Also present were senior officials from the Ministry of External Affairs whilst the BOI was represented by Dilip S. Samarasinghe, Director – Media and Publicity, Nilupul de Silva, Director – Promotion and Renuka Weerakone, Director – Secretariat.
