“With our newly setup local entity Robert Bosch Lanka, we complement our presence in the region, after having been in India for over 90 years and recently having opened an office in Bangladesh. It is important for us to have a direct presence in Colombo which is the focal point of the country’s vivid economic activities,” Dr. Berns stated.BUP_DFT_DFT-3-03

Sri Lanka has shown significant development in the recent years and is expected to further grow strongly in the years to come. Over the past few months consumer spending has increased significantly. The country particularly offers many opportunities in the services sector which has contributed significantly to Sri Lanka’s gross domestic product (GDP).

Against this backdrop, Robert Bosch Lanka will initially engage in sales, marketing and trading of products and services of the Bosch divisions of Automotive Aftermarket, Security Systems, Thermotechnology and Power Tools.

“With fascinating and meaningful technologies that are “Invented for life,” Bosch develops solutions to global and local challenges. We offer many products very well suited to the country’s needs, including infrastructure – and city development, mobility and energy-technology. The inauguration of our new office marks an important milestone for our business expansion in the South Asian region. We look to further increase our footprint in Sri Lanka as it emerges to be an important growth market for our business,” Dr. Berns added.
