CA Sri Lanka brings down Wall Street Mastermind for M&A Workshop of the Year

The Institute of Chartered Accountants of Sri Lanka (CA Sri Lanka), which has built up a reputation for offering cutting-edge professional advancement programs for the benefit of the country’s high-end professionals, will bring down a Wall Street Mastermind to conduct a Mergers & Acquisitions workshop on 15 November. The Mergers & Acquisitions workshop, which is conducted jointly with Euromoney Training LLC, will feature Andrew Regan, who has been a consultant to some of America’s top business tycoons such as Warren Buffet, John Welch and Daniel Tully. The comprehensive three-day workshop will cover the most critical aspects of mergers and acquisitions in today’s business context. The program will cover six case studies while providing participants with a modern and unique learning experience for their professional advancement. The workshop will benefit corporate strategy and business development executives, professionals working in M&A units, finance directors involved in M&A structuring, commercial and investment bankers, investment management professionals, company legal officers, accountants, CFOs and auditors. The workshop will be broken into two sessions each day. The morning session of Day One will cover ‘Motivations and Fundamental Analytics in M&A Contexts’ while the afternoon session will focus on ‘Synergies, Due Diligence and the M&A Process’. On the second day, the morning session will explore the ‘Cost of Capital and Discounted Cashflow Analysis in an M&A Context’, followed by the noon sessions on ‘Relative Valuation in Change-of-Ownership Transactions, Anticipated Synergies and Their Impacts on Valuation’. The morning session on Day Three will be on ‘Transaction Structuring and Funding’, while the noon session, which will also be the final session of the three-day workshop, will be on ‘Leveraged Transaction Structuring’. From 1994 to 1995, Regan served as Secretary to Professor Hayes, Warren Buffet, GE Chairman Jack Welch, former Merrill Lynch Chairman Daniel Tully and other members of the Compensation Practices Committee, a blue-ribbon panel of securities industry experts appointed by US Securities and Exchange Commission Chairman Arthur Levitt to look at remuneration in the retail brokerage business. Regan holds an MBA with High Honors from the Harvard Business School and has worked with various HBS faculty members, including Jacob Schiff Professor of Investment Banking Emeritus Samuel L. Hayes III, researching mutual interest.
