The most anticipated event in the academic calendar of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Sri Lanka (CA Sri Lanka), the Annual Convocation 2012, will be held on 20 September under the patronage of Minister of Co-Operatives and Internal Trade Johnston Fernando who will grace the occasion as the Chief Guest.
Overseas Realty (Ceylon) PLC Group CEO Pravir Samarasinghe, who is a Fellow Member of CA Sri Lanka, will be the guest of honour at the convocation which will witness the graduation of 215 students who complete the chartered accounting course and obtain the associate membership from the prestigious 53-year old Institute, joining a fraternity of nearly 4200 existing members.
A total of 12 prize winners who have fared outstandingly at the 2011 CA examinations will also receive their prizes at the 2012 convocation.
CA Sri Lanka is the national accounting body in the country and is one of the largest professional bodies with 4,200 members who are chartered accountants. The Institute is also among the largest tertiary education establishments outside the university system in Sri Lanka with a mammoth student base of over 37,000.
