CB releases Economic and Social Statistics of Sri Lanka - 2014 Publication

The Central Bank of Sri Lanka has released its latest annual publication titled “Economic and Social Statistics of Sri Lanka - 2014 – Volume XXXVI”. A wide range of information relating to economic and social indicators of Sri Lanka covering areas such as Climate, Population and Labour Force, National Accounts, Agriculture, Industry, Prices and Wages, External Trade and Finance, Money and Capital Markets, Government Finance, Banking and Financial Institutions, Transportation, Socio-Economic Services and selected information on economic and social indicators of other countries are disseminated ever year through this publication. This publication also includes information on living conditions, poverty and household characteristics in Sri Lanka from Household Income and Expenditure Survey conducted by the Census and Statistics Department. Further, it includes disaggregated information at the provincial level on key economic variables, including socio-economic conditions, GDP in current terms, agriculture and livestock statistics, water consumption, foreign employment and plantation sector manpower and production. The statistics in this publication has been presented by providing breakdowns and in time series/ cross sectional manner, in order to serve the diverse needs of its users. The data can be used for analysing the trends in the economy, and will be useful to entrepreneurs, policy makers, researchers, teachers, students and the general public. A copy of this publication is priced at Rs.300/- and it is available in all three languages (English, Sinhala and Tamil).
