CB sponsored credit programmes disbursed Rs.4.6 b in the North

Since mid 2009, Central Bank of Sri Lanka (CBSL) has been actively engaged in promotion of livelihood and income generating activities (IGAs) among the conflict affected households and resettled Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) in the Northern Province. For this purpose, in keeping with the Government’s vision, the CBSL, by allocating Rs.3,000 million, introduced a separate credit line named “Awakening North” which was exclusively designed for meeting the requirement of conflict affected businesses/IGAs in the Province.
