CBB: Demonstrating continuous strength of relations between UK and Sri Lanka

The British High Commission together with United Kingdom Trade and Investment (UKTI) and the Council for Business with Britain (CBB) hosted a business reception on Monday 11 November 2013 at Westminster House.  Invitees included the British delegates participating in the Commonwealth Business Forum, the Members of the CBB, and a number of other distinguished guests. This event focused on celebrating the long standing UK-Sri Lanka business partnership. The Invitees were addressed by High Commissioner for Sri Lanka and Maldives John Rankin, who spoke about the key sectors of opportunity and mentioned that he looks forward to increased trade relationships between Sri Lanka and UK as a result of the Commonwealth Business Forum. The gathering was also addressed by UKTI Asia Director John Saville and Chairman of The Council for Business with Britain Shirendra Lawrence. The networking session that followed, provided a valuable opportunity for dialogue on trade and investment between the two countries The delegation from the United Kingdom was the biggest overseas group in attendance at the Commonwealth Business Forum, displaying the investor confidence they have for Sri Lanka, and demonstrating the continued strength of relations between the two countries.
