CCC conducts Sri Lanka-China Business Forum, B2B sessions

A Sri Lanka-China Business Forum was held early this week in Colombo with the participation of 28 Chinese businessmen, who also took part in B2B meetings with the Sri Lankan counterparts.

The business delegation arrived from the Jiangsu province of China to explore potential business opportunities here in the country.

The Ceylon Chamber of Commerce in association with the Sri Lanka-China Business Council and the Council for Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT) and the Jiangsu Global Sourcing Centre, China organised the Business Forum and the B2B meetings, which was held at the Hilton Colombo Residences. 

Addressing the gathering during the event, Ceylon Chamber of Commerce Chief Executive Officer Dhara Wijayatilake emphasised the importance of further strengthening trade and investment opportunities between Sri Lanka and China. 

In pursuit of common interests in business development and international cooperation, China Council for the Promotion of International Trade, Jiangsu Sub-Council and The Ceylon Chamber of Commerce signed a Memorandum of Understanding to establish cooperation between the two organisations. 

This MOU affirmed that China Council for the Promotion of International Trade, Jiangsu Sub-Council and The Ceylon Chamber of Commerce will work together to further explore opportunities on the basis of mutual benefit and reciprocity.

Dhara Wijayatilake, Chief Executive Officer of the Ceylon Chamber of Commerce and Cong Sufeng, Vice Chairman of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade, Jiangsu Sub-council signed the MOU, respectively on behalf of the two parties.
