CCI launches Build SL 2013, CCI website and business directory

The Chamber of Construction Industry Sri Lanka (CCI) was proud to launch the third edition of the Construction Industry Trade and Business Directory. Originally published in 2006, the third edition is more comprehensive and is a reflection of the state of the construction Industry in the country.

The Chief Guest at the launch was Basil Rajapaksa, Minister of Economic Development while Wimal Weerawansa, Minister of Construction, Engineering Services, Housing and Common Amenities, and Thilanga Sumathipala, Member of Parliament were the Guests of Honour.

The CCI also launched the CCI website which is the direct and updated hotline to the stakeholders and the general public. Any person who requires information of CCI activities and members can do so by logging on to www.ccisrilanka.org

S.N. Wijepala, Founder Vice President of the CCI during 2001-2012, who retired in January 2012, was also felicitated at this ceremony and was awarded a memento for the dedicated services rendered to CCI. Wijepala is the current President of the Institute of Valuers Sri Lanka.

The CCI officially launched the Construction Industry Exhibition and Trade Fair, Build SL 2013 to be held at the BMICH for the eighth successive year from 10 to 12 May 2013. The exhibition and fair will be presented in a novel format with the participation of stakeholders representing different sectors of the domestic construction industry.

‘The impact of globalisation to enhance the local construction industry dimensions’ will be the theme of the exhibition. In accordance with the theme, the exhibition will provide opportunities for local companies to promote themselves as potential service providers to the International Arena.
